Our Outdoor Spaces
Our outdoor area is an extension of our nursery and pre school classrooms, offering children the freedom to explore, move, imagine and investigate in the fresh air. It is thoughtfully designed to support physical development, creativity, problem‑solving and a deep connection with the natural world.
Large sandpit for imaginative play
Our spacious sandpit encourages digging, building and experimenting. Children work together to create structures, explore textures and develop early maths and science skills through hands‑on play.
Climbing frame and tunnel
Physical development is supported through our climbing frame and tunnel, where children can climb, balance, crawl and challenge themselves safely. These activities help build strength, coordination and confidence.
Bikes and trikes for active play
Children love zooming around on our bikes and trikes, developing gross‑motor skills, spatial awareness and turn‑taking. This area is always full of energy and excitement.
Mud kitchen for sensory exploration
Our mud kitchen invites children to mix, pour, scoop and create imaginative “recipes.” It’s a wonderful space for sensory play, role‑play and language development.
Construction area
With a range of open‑ended materials, children can build, design and problem‑solve in our outdoor construction zone. This area encourages teamwork, creativity and early engineering skills.
Outdoor mark‑making area
Our whiteboard and blackboard provide opportunities for children to draw, write and express ideas outdoors. Mark‑making in the fresh air supports early writing skills in a fun, relaxed way.
Water play with guttering and water tray
Children explore flow, movement and cause‑and‑effect through our water activities. Guttering, pipes and a water tray allow them to experiment, investigate and develop early scientific thinking.
Cosy story spaces
We create inviting, sheltered areas where children can share a story with a friend or adult. These quiet corners offer moments of calm and connection within the busy outdoor environment.
